About Me

I am a self-taught Suffolk-based acrylic artist, who paints in a distinctive intuitive style. My paintings are brightly coloured and joyful, characterised by patterns, shapes, mark-making and symbolism. Full of energy, movement & vibrancy, evoking a myriad of emotions.

I am a dual-heritage artist, having a South-African and British mix. My style is naturally influenced in some way by this, although aboriginal influences can also be found within some aspects of my work. With no formal art training my style has evolved intuitively through the natural process of consistently painting and enjoying my craft.

In 2020 my passion for painting was re-ignited when I was experiencing mental health issues in my mid-fifties, and since then I haven’t looked back. Becoming an artist has changed my life. I had my first exhibition in Woodbridge, Suffolk in May 2022. My style continues to evolve over time and is very distinctive. I am inspired by the colours and wonder of nature, particularly flowers, trees and the sea. I have a deepening appreciation of life and the many gifts it offers up. My paintings are my calling to connection and spreading more light in the world.

“Each painting reaches a point when it truly comes together on the canvas and at this point my whole body becomes more alive.”

My paintings are my offering to you, an invitation, to see beyond the obvious, and find trust in your place in the world. Let them speak to you and allow you to feel something. Perhaps more alive too….
